Is this deck good? Maybe, probably, possibly. Is it fun? Definitely.
This is a combo deck where we use Daredevil on our Skids fast action gamble (hereafter Gamble Test) to bin everything in our deck and then pull all 6 copies of Glimmer of Hope back. I decided on making it a fighting deck so you can Practice Makes Perfect for Crackshot without it interfering in the Daredevil loop plus Robert can discard a card you will just shuffle back in so its no loss.
Whats the Combo We are using Skids gamble test to comitt Daredevil which can find no other rogue skill to commit besides another copy that discards whats left. The +2 wild to the gamble test is nice as well. Then you can grab all 6 glimmers back and use them to crush any test and see them all again soon. The basic concept is simple but I found actually playing this deck to be tricky as you need to balance when you go for the Daredevil loop as you draw your weaknesses, Skids signature is fine it can sit in play and does not get discarded. Anything you will keep seeing is not ideal, but you can play around them.
Tools to Assist We have PMP to find Daredevil and keep it in hand, plus it works great with all our guns for overpower or crackshot. I included precious momento to soak the horror from reshuffle and with the amount of skills we can comitt suceeding by 2 is no issue. Fortuitous Discovery is there to give burst clues when you are setup and have down time, I recommend you hold on to one copy in hand just incase you have free time. Lucky Cigarette Case just helps get extra draw for when you are setting up or just want to find something in particular.
How To Combo Hard mulligan for PMP or a copy of Daredevil. Turn 1 ripping through the deck for glimmers is very good as you can use them to sustain the next few turns while you shuffle and draw for Robert, a gun or two and Precious Momento. Once you are equipped you can more freely start just ripping through your deck each turn and comitting glimmers to everything and everyone, don't forget to share. On average you will find Daredevil or PMP every other turn so that is the pace you should expect so use your glimmers accordingly. You can set up Fortuitous Discovery easily with one in hand and doing start of turn gamble test into Daredevil. This can help you pick up 6 to 12 clues a game testing at a 6+ while still managing your fighting duties. You make enough money from constantly crushing gamble tests and using the Mauser's money gaining that I cut all econ and ended with 14 resources.
Possible Changes You can swap the .25 Automatics for Bulldogs if you want to use the lvl 2 glimmers on your fight tests more. And if you find the deck space for Well Connected it would add even more to passing random tests. You could do Leo DeLuca instead of Robert but I think the added consistency and free play actions are too good to pass up.
Mythos Once set up on glimmer looping the deck can actually handle brain tests as lvl 2 glimmer gives +2 brain and we have a never ending supply. Precious Momento goes a long way in the soak department and Robert can take a few blows for us, we can afford to replay him and can shuffle him back quickly.
Stalling Out Like any combo deck if you fail to find PMPs or Daredevils you might hit a roadblock. This is why I have LCC and card drawing skills so you can hopefully draw through the deck as fast as possible. Even if you totally stall out you can still reasonably fight with the guns and Robert so if you are setup the game isnt over it just gets harder.
Thats is it, nothing too fancy but a fun combo EX Skids can do in a post TDC world.
