This starting deck for Marie is building you into a powerful clue finder for multiplayer games that will see piles of clues on single locations. It will ideally rely on Archaic Glyphs to clear entire locations of clues (and sometimes still have 3 actions remaining!).

The general idea is to get the Archaic Glyphs out as fast as possible, and translate them asap. Use the Research Librarian to tutor the lvl 0 glyphs and quickly replace her with something more useful, perhaps even an inquiring mind. Use Alyssa Graham to also search faster if needed, especially if you have your moonlight ritual ready.

Truth from Fiction and Enraptured will help translate the stones more quickly, but can also be used after you have 2 copies of guiding stones in your deck to boost your success value when it triggers, maybe even allowing you to place another charge on the stones. Once the upgraded glyphs (guiding stones) are out, rely on your vast reserve of wild skills to boost your investigation test as high as you dare. You will get EXTRA clues for every +2 you are over the shroud! If you can snag the LAST clue and Connect the Dots, even better!

If you notice your powerful skill cards dwindling, or if you have used up all of your spell charges, quantum flux them back into your deck! Remember that putting a doom on Alyssa or the Arcane Initiate will allow you to use Marie's ability to trigger the upgraded glyphs as a free action, but it will also come in handy when trying to find time to play moonlight ritual or storm of spirits if you get pinned down.

Your first upgrades should clearly be the glyphs, but you'll want to follow that up with powerful spells with charges as well. Feed the Mind or Arcane insight will increase your ability to boost your glyph investigations, while you may also want to consider nabbing suggestion to help you navigate enemies more easily. Free evade if Alyssa has been all doom and gloom? Don't mind if I do!

Once The Secret Name is available, Sign Magic also becomes a very good option for Marie to give her more spell access and additional charges to pull from unused spells to power torrent of power. As you can see, she is not running any hand items. If you prefer, Research Librarian can be exchanged for a magnifying glass, but I'm not convinced it is worth the experience.

Drop delve too deep to make more room for these spells and upgrades once you feel like you've juiced enough out of it.

Another thing to remember is that once your glyphs are upgraded, they no longer count toward your seeker card limit since they have become spells. This allows you to slot in additional seeker cards if you desire such as upgraded deductions or inquiring minds.

The level 0 glyphs don't count anyway because they are occult.

Can’t believe I overlooked that! They’re occult... I may have to swap some cards

But combining this information makes it perfect. They can be included because they are level 0 occult, and then they are spells which makes it ideal for Marie (spells are allowed until level 5). Or am I missing something?

No, you are correct. I had missed that the lvl 0 glyphs were occult. All this really means is that there are actually at least 2 more seeker/survivor spots that could be used in this deck.

Swapping out perceptions for deductions would be a good plan.

Including an occult lexicon (once Before the Black Throne is out) would be an option as well since it is also occult and can be tutored for by the Librarian. Maybe in place of a Storm of Spirits.
