"This moor is wild and desolate," she said.

"It is easy to enter, but sometimes they who enter never leave it. There are no peasants' huts here."

"Well," I said, "if you will tell me in which direction Kerselec lies, to-morrow it will take me no longer to go back than it has to come."

She looked at me again with an expression almost like pity.

"Ah," she said, "to come is easy and takes hours; to go is different — and may take centuries."

The after-glow was beginning to fade in the sky and a single star twinkled faintly through the rosy haze. A long wavering triangle of water-fowl drifted southward over our heads, and from the swamps around plover were calling.

"They are very beautiful — these moors," she said quietly.

"Beautiful, but cruel to strangers," I answered.

"Beautiful and cruel," she repeated dreamily, "beautiful and cruel."

That's a lot of assets jostling for your hand and ally slots. You're going to lose a lot of value when they sit in your hand, unable to be played without discarding the previous one you played.

True, although with Lola's larger hand size, I wanted to be able to reliably draw a weapon and an ally early on. I think I will switch out Knife for Adaptable - I had a plan around including neutral weapons in case I needed to fight while stuck off-class (eg. needing to fight whilst in the Seeker role) but it's probably not worth it if I'm only including one.

I'd welcome suggestions for any neutral weapons that could work though!

"There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: "The way of a Machete in the air; the way of a Magnifying Glass upon a rock; the way of a Narrow Escape in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid."

First upgrades... Old Hunting Rifle and 2x Guiding Spirit?

Possibly! Guiding Spirit is a good include due to it's permanent skill boost and horror soak - however I switching into Survivor just for that could be a pain. Same issue with the rifle.

I'd thought about Grisly Totem (as a base level card and for 3 XP) since it's powerful when committing skill cards, which I plan to do quite a lot.

Still looking for ways to tutor/neutralise Crisis too!
