This is the second half of my Zoey-Ashcan duo that I used to beat circle undone. The Zoey half can be found here: https://arkhamdb.com/decklist/view/20164/ascia-maleficarum-zoey-samaras-for-circle-undone-1.0 It is a surprisingly asset-light that that was incredibly efficient. In my campaign, I also got the Black Book, so I had three hand assets that boosted intellect. Duke took care of investigations. While him and Ashcan lacked clue acceleration, they were very efficient at getting them, and at keeping up momentum.
Opening hand: You want to mulligan hard for assets. Preferably you will get a magnifying glass/black book and a guiding spirit, so Duke can investigate at six. Miss Doyle is a decent asset, but the deck lacks the card draw to take full advantage of the cat army. However, it is nice to have the ability to investigate without Duke, or to evade with a base of 5. I'm therefore very happy about my decision to upgrade into this ally. A test of will or alter fate is also a great include, as they allow you to keep up momentum.
Hands: You want to double mag glass. If you run this outside circle undone, consider adding two hawkeye folding cameras instead of able bodied and stunning blow.
Accessory: I decided to make this deck when moonstone was spoiled. It lived up to my fullest expectations. Free ready for Duke, and a double stat boost. With that Ashcan gets to 5 willpower, meaning that you ace a lot of treacheries. It was so good with black book...
Ally: Pretty self-explanatory. Guiding spirits bump your stats, Miss Doyle help you keep up momentum by offering you alternative solutions to curve balls from the encounter deck.
Events/Skills: Sharp vision was incredibly efficient for clue acceleration once you get your mag glasses and guiding spirits out. I initially underestimated this card, but I will look to include it in other survivor decks from now on. Will to survive is the card you keep in hand for that final round, where you just need to pass the final tests to win. Last chance is so good in Ashcan, as you normally discard a lot of cards.
