This is a somewhat modified Eldritch Knight build. Specifically for use in Path to Carcosa with 2 other investigators that very 'clue capable' (Jenny and Daisy).
It wasn't made with the Taboo rules in effect, but it doesn't conflict with any of them at this time.
Changes from the original build: Machete has been replaced with Survival Knife Scene of the Crime and Take the Initiative were dropped. A 2nd Hypnotic Gaze was taken.
Alternatives:
Quantum Flux could be taken as the build plans on using upgraded Enchanted Blade (3) and the .45 Automatic (2) with Eat Lead! and possibly Marksman as well Xps allowing! (to do this, I'd probably drop Drawn to the Flame for Quantum Flux. Or maybe take Versatile to go ahead a grab a few other cards as well.)
Spectral Razor was added to give the build another potential damage source (especially if Diana has several cards banked under her).
Venturer would be useful for topping off the .45 Automatic later.
Guard Dog is not a bad choice. It won't help in direct fighting but would help with general tankyness and retaliatory strikes.
Some out of class card choices for Versatile could be:
- Peter Sylvestre - (Agility boost and horror soak).
- Dr. William T. Maleson - (cheap soaker, he has a "cancel" effect so it could be banked under Diana. The effect isn't super strong but it could make a difference and if he's a bit banged up he could be saved from death while freeing up that Ally slot.)
- Madame Labranche - (a slightly more expensive, yet still low-cost soaker, and her two Fast Actions could be pretty useful).
- Occult Lexicon - could be an interesting choice, and since you only can have 1 copy of it anyhow, you're not coming up short there.

Apr 15, 2020Hi Django, yeah, I'm in agreement with that. I've now used her in the first scenario of Path to Carcosa and didn't get much use out of the Survival Knife there (just one basic stab early on because it was the only weapon in-hand) and I think it would probably have been a better idea to have taken the basic .45 Automatic instead. On the other hand, the Enchanted Blade worked wonderfully. But as you said, since Diana lacks much soak and has no real healing of her own, this set-up does feel more inclined with wanting to either kill enemies asap or avoid their damage when at all possible. Thanks for taking the time to comment! |
I thought about Survival knife in my Diana deck, but its not good without damage soaks or healing as the knife requires you taking damage. So the dog would be a good Addition.
