My first deck for Roland to be used in pure solo or 2-handed solo.

Have you already purchased the second core set? I was tempted to do so when i started a couple days ago since so many were recommending it but i have decided against it. My budget might be tighter than yours but so many other packs are going to be much better value, especially investigator decks if youre looking for player cards. You can basically get 3 of those for the price of one core set. Just my two cents on the issue of buying two core sets.

Now about the deck, i only started playing recently so take my advice with a grain of salt. I think dynamite isnt worth it and you definitely need something to help with willpower. "Physical training" is useful but i would definitely include at least one or ideally two copies of "guts". Having 7 weapons also seems a bit high, maybe cut one knife. With so many investigation cards i think 2 flashlights can also be 1 too many. That being said i enjoyed playing with Roland, just be careful not to take horror unnecessarily :)

Thanks a lot for the comment! I already love this community!

I actually haven't purchased a second core yet, just proxied a few cards to see if it's worth it. I think it adds a lot of consistency but I have to look at the starter decks to see if they have the cards that I need. I rather buy new scenarios first though.

I have to agree with you on Dynamite blast, through my first campaign I never used it and it was a dead card in my hand. Your comments are spot on, I took lots of horror in the 3rd scenario from the encounter deck so I'll have to find a place for guts and the flashlights were useless most of the time.

Yeah, Roland can have problems with sanity which is why you should get the Elder Sign Amulet as one of your first upgrades since its only 3xp. You probably did that already just pointing it out in case you missed it, for some reason on one of my first playthroughs i forgot to check neutral cards for upgrades -.- As far as buying the second core set i think most of the posts and comments recommending it are from when the game was young and there weren't many other expansions to get the extra player cards. It made sense to buy a second core set back then especially if playing with 3 or more investigators at once. Now between all the expansion and investigator decks it doesn't make sense unless your budget is pretty much unlimited. I bought the Dunwich expansion and the first 2 mythos packs of the cycle and am very happy with the purchase and don't feel like I'm short on player cards whatsoever.

Ah right I actually forgot about neutral cards too during the upgrade phase. I'll get it next time, I plan on doing an Agnes + Roland run next.

You might be right about the 2nd core set. I think I'm feeling limited cause all I have at the moment is one core. Can't wait to get my hands on the Dunwich Legacy.
