Based on "Mark Harrigan - To Carcosa and back!". Made a few small changes for the starting deck:

  • Leadership for Take the Initiative.
  • Stand Together for Scenes of the Crime (concerned for resource generation).
  • Colt for .45. Because Mark can use it and it's a bit cheaper.
  • 1x fine clothes removed, because I gave the other to Sefina, and replaced it with a Dynamite Blast, because it's a nice option to have if things go dynamite-shaped.

Pardon the wonky scenario logging. I got the early stuff accurately, but I'm doing this a while after our final push, so the end is approximated.

Curtain Call - 9XP: Prepared for the Worst > Ever Vigilant (1) 2x Guard Dog > Brother Xavier (1) Stick to the Plan (3)

+5XP: Fine > Key of Ys (5)

+3XP: True Grid > Bullet Proof Vest (3)

+8XP: Stand Together (0) > (3)

+2XP: Machete > Shotgun (5)

I lost note of my specific XP gains here and the card order, but the final upgrades were:

2x Evidence! (0) > (1) 2x Vicious Blows (0) > Vicious Blows (2)Emergency Cache (0) > Emergency Cache (2) Emergency Cache (0) > Emergency Cache (3)

(There's also a correction here for the final decklist modifications pursuant to the above notes. Earlier decks had Leadership, but Leadership was always Inspiring Presence from deck creation. There were also never any truly sideboard cards here, so you can ignore those in the earlier versions.)

In the end we won against the consensus hardest version. Sefina enabled me to do some desperate maneuvers to eek out an extremely clutch and bad feeling win, but it was a win. We had some terrible luck in the finale - an excessive number of autofails. And I said, he who must not be named's name ... 4 times I think? Which didn't help.

Overall, this deck did what I wanted. It's not a deck I find particularly exciting to play, but my goal was to win, and this Mark helped ensure we won.

And I'll reiterate advice from the deck this was based on: Stalling the first scenario to maximize your XP during Carcosa will help get your deck in front of the campaign, and Mark is an investigator who can manage this at the start of Carcosa. Have Sefina run Delve too Deep and bath in the extra XP!

One other note: We came back to this after a failed run with The Forgotten Age. This can be played if you are playing cycle progressive + NatCho, which is how we are playing. (Also, I needed to proxy the Elusive, since Sefina had my two copies. Do as you wish in this regard.)
