This is a deck that just completed the custom campaign Betrayal at the Mountains of Madness (lovingly abbreviated as BATMOM herein). I played the campaign with my friend Ektheleon, who brought a Synergy Patrice deck, using Prophetic alongside the standard mystic spell events and Brand of Cthugha and Rite of Seeking. In this respect both of us were relatively competent clue gatherers and could both contribute to combat.

Of note, this campaign has the Forced ability on Legs of Atlach-Nacha as a Keyword, and as such I decided not to go with the .25 Automatic since it wouldn't be able to get the bonus and damage against those enemies. For this reason I went ahead and picked up the .18 Derringer and .41 Derringer. The goal of the deck is to evade the things that aren't worth committing heavily to. Save Overpower for when 5 or 6 isn't enough, and simply keep shooting. This deck was fairly reliably doing a good chunk of the enemy management, and to answer the deck title, yes, Derringer's deal damage.

Very late into the campaign the Underworld Market card from the upcoming The Scarlet Keys expansion was teased. The two copies of Versatile were included as a proxy for Underworld Market, and let me tell you, that card is incredible! My Market deck was 2 Pickpocketing, 1 Liquid Courage, 1 Quickdraw Holster, 2 Fence, 1 Finn's Trusty .38, 1 Smuggled Goods, and two .18 Derringer. You prioritize getting Fence and Pickpocketing, and then just fetch out everything else.

One thing I learned while playing this deck is that Fence is actually kind of insane when you have this many illicit things that you want to play. Everyone goes nuts over Pathfinder, which is a very strong card that sort of gives you a move every turn. Fence almost does the same thing except as a Play action for Illicit cards, and once your deck has enough illicit cards in it, that value gets realized fairly quickly, especially when guns are running out of ammo mid-turn and you need to play another one.

One thing I will caution with Underworld Market is that you need a bit more money than you might have otherwise thought. I didn't add Faustian Bargain into my deck with the 10 bonus cards, and I absolutely should have. It turns out that putting an extra 10 cost total on some of your most essential cards adds up very quickly.
