True Solo Skids deck discussed in this blog article: https://www.quantitativediscussions.com/aloneinthemythos/2024/03/15/gearing-up-for-true-solo/

The deck discussed as been completed with

  • 1 Ancestral Token, 1 Backpack: items that fit in uncontested slots and provide soak, card draw, and some bless tokens (not required by this deck)
  • 2 Bank Job, 2 Faustian Bargain. Resource generation to be played during of turns. They pay their action cost back through Skids ability.
  • 2 Nimble, 2 Manual dex. Skill boosts to help evading, fighting with the Bull Dogs and investigating with Thieves' Kit, gives card draw and movement.
  • 1 Trusted: a bit of fast extra soak if needed
  • 1 Tinker: fast extra slot to provide more flexibility.

Strategy:

Mulligan for weapons and flashlight/Thieves kit. If you have one of each, mulligan for other items (mask/backpack/Ancestral Token). Perfect turn 1 is a weapon, a tool and another item played with Geared Up.

Early game : once you have a weapon and tool in play, advance the game and play resource card when not under pressure.

Middle game: get Venturer out when you deplete your first set of items/need soak. Ancestral token can be played if it shows up.

Save skills other than manual dexterity and nimble for critical tests. You can take some horror. Late game: use resources to pay your weakness and gain extra actions.
