In preparation for Arkham Con 2026 I have taken it upon myself to make a series of pre-made Standalone decks all with different alt-art treatments. What started last year with a goal of 3 decks, a flex, cluever, and goon, blossomed into 7 with a range of wild designs. This year I have made a whopping 12 more decks! Here is a link to some low res files so you can see what they look like: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1J-EYuY12iov-oja2xg88ubVSyOuZRmfr?usp=sharing
Don't forget to check out the other decks, and say hey at Arkham Con if you see me! I might even have a an alt-art surprise for you. ;)
Akachi seemed like a pretty boring investigator to me at first, as her ability left little to the imagination. Some of my favorite spells with charges also happen to be multi-class cards, so leaning into synergy seemed a fun way to spice things up. All five classes are present, but honestly most of the time 3 classes is sufficient to get your money's worth. Close the Circle in particular really enjoys coming in with that extra charge. Spirit-Speaker is such an amazing card in the deck, as all signature cards should be, and really let's you keep your spells going along almost indefinitely. Discarding a full Brand of Cthugha with extra charge for a net 5 resource gain is pretty sick! Prophetic, Sacrifice, and Voice of Ra also help in economy to pay for all those pricey assets. With what will usually be more charges than you can actually spend Spectral Shield is an absolute banger every game. It only prevents one damage at a time, but the majority of what the Mythos deals out is death by a thousand cuts, which this shuts down effectively. General housekeeping that has come up when I lend this deck to players, Cat Mask and Prophetic both enter/replenish tokens, but aren't charges so don't interact with Akachi's ability. This is a very capable flex deck that can step up to most anything a general scenario will call for.
For theme I pulled from one of my favorite fantasy settings, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The Cities of Sigmar frequently employ forces from a myriad of factions. Humans, Aelves, Oggors, Duardin (dwarves), Halflings, and more. So the synergy mechanics are a perfect fit. Akachi in this deck takes the role of a Stormcast Eternal, specifically an Evocator from the Sacrosanct Chamber to fit the magical leanings. There is a plethora of gorgeous artwork, so had plenty to choose from. Couple flavor wins are the various realm-stones for Close the Circle, the Slann Starpriest for Divination, the Twin Tailed Comet of Sigmar for Prophetic, and Amnesia being the art of a Stormcast that has forgotten themselves and is getting locked in the vaults. The angry spirits are Nighthaunt, while her Spirit-Speaker is the Anvil of Apotheosis which is where Stormcast get reforged/crafted. Playing the other side of the coin, I aimed for Tzeentch themed art for the Random Basic Weaknesses, with Through the Gates being a piece you can get lost in looking at every detail.
This is a deck that made me completely re-evaluate Akachi, and is a rock solid deck to hand to even newer players. The gameplay loop has enough meat to not be boring, but is clear enough that complex sequencing is unnecessary. Give it a go yourself as you reclaim the Mortal Realms in Sigmar's name!
