Actually a pretty good ally even if you aren’t running many relics/books. Most people would agree St. Huberts Key is a pretty good Card. This one gives the same stats, is able to tank more horror and can soak damage as well, which is pretty nice for seekers. The search ability is actually just bonus at that point.
Most seekers won’t have much trouble finding her early due to strong card draw/search effects. Yeah she takes up an ally slot, but in the right deck that can be mitigated by picking up Miskatonic Archeology funding.
All in all this seems pretty nice if you are running a seeker that runs at least 1 tome/relic that you are going to get out early and consistently (which she obviously helps you doing) and that can make use of the extra willpower. You don’t need to build your entire deck around this card.
Norman loves her at level 0, but he loves her even more at level 2. She boosts his two main stats (turning him into a 5/6 willpower/intellect investigator) and helps him find critical game-breaking assets like Livre d'Ebon and Astronomical Atlas. She also acts as a soak and helps him reshuffle his deck to change his top card.
Whitton is not the right ally for most investigators, but she's great for certain investigators.
Pretty much what they said about Whitton Greene (0), but more so. Who likes this? Ursula, Daisy, and Luke, maybe Harvey, assuming he's running tomes. Joe or Rex could use the boost, but, unless they are running tomes and/or relics, not so great. On the other hand, I am probably going to try and cram Dream Diary into every deck I can, Whitton is a damn sight better than (although more expensive than) Research Librarian. Warning. You probably want to pack Pathfinder and/or Shortcut to make sure you trigger her ability.
Currently running her in a Roland Banks deck to help me find my Cyclopean Hammer. I took her as a one-action, four-cost Well Prepared that can be used (hopefully) multiple times until you manage to find said weapon. Then she provides +1 willpower to help that same weapon hit harder, +1 intellect to help investigate when you're lacking enemies, and nice horror soak.
