This is a flex deck that maximize the usage of Heirloom of Hyperborea, which means drawing many many cards per turn.
Heirloom of Hyperborea is such a special asset that does not have any limit like exhaust or limit once per turn, meaning that it is even possible that you draw your entire deck in one turn without other card engines. The only obstacle could be Dark Memory - once you draw it, generally you must play it as soon as possible, and once you play it, you would rather not reshuffle your deck and would never want to see it again. For the alternative Agnes Baker, the common solution is to her ability and shuffle your card back into the deck to prevent reshuffling, just like what HungryColquhoun does in their deck.
Is there any other ways like keeping Dark Memory in hand till the end of the game? YES!
To hold the dark memory and absorb the horror, we have the well-known combo Spirit of Humanity and The Key of Solomon that heals 1 damage 1horror and eliminates s every 2 turns; we have Agnes's old friend Peter Sylvestre and other healing tricks. Meanwhile, we can benefit from the damage/horror thanks to Sparrow Mask, and provide tons of skill value boosts.
This deck is tested: I finished EotE campaign in hard level. I would recommend you this deck especially for this campaign because (spoiler-free):
- It has partners that absorbs extra horror and damage, which allows you to survival with 7 damage and 5 horror and is still safe.
- It has story assets that provides extra cash and healing, which is very helpful before you get sufficient XP for the combos.
Now, Agnes, try to forgive your past and embrace the dark memory! You will be okay!
Mulligan: Backpack = Arcane Initiate > Take Heart > Scroll of Secrets > Heirloom of Hyperborea > Spirit of Humanity (can not be searched by Backpack, etc.).
For the early stage, prepare yourself. Play Hunting Jacket for cash and draw extra cards by Take Heart and etc. It helps you to collect necessary components as soon as possible.
Either play Arcane Initiate at the first round and kill her when the agenda is about to advance, or play her right before the agenda advances (playing her at this time would not cause the agenda to advance immediately). Arcane Initiate is critical to draw necessary attacking spells to protect the whole team and draw extra spell cards as the fuel of Heirloom of Hyperborea.
Backpack is critical in this deck to search for The Key of Solomon, Heirloom of Hyperborea and Sparrow Mask. The card attachment is not forced, so you may choose not to attach Hunting Jacket when the second Backpack is getting searched to avoid inevitable drops (you must drop the hunting jacket when you play the second backpack).
Once you get The Key of Solomon, Spirit of Humanity and Peter Sylvestre ready, congratulations! You are immune from Dark Memory.
When the deck is going to run out, recur anything valuable depending on the situation. For example, Ward of Protection, Read the Signs and Tides of Fate (which protects you when you add too many s by Spirit of Humanity and provides extra healing from The Key of Solomon).
I added the advanced Heirloom of Hyperborea and Dark Memory at the beginning since normally I would never play the weakness.
But remember that it is not 100% guaranteed to get rid of placing Dooms! For example, if you draw it at the first round, then no deck building can avoid this extra dooms. However, you may choose to Agnes's ability and reduce its cost to 2 - this won't force you to reshuffle it into your deck.
Arcane Initiate and Hunting Jacket perform even better in this deck because you can always Agnes's ability, take one damage and defeat them. Meanwhile, unlike other common Mystic decks that Arcane Initiate is no longer needed in the late stage, she would stand to the end in this deck as the deck recurs and always draw one extra card per turn. Hunting Jacket provides net 4$ and 2/2 damage soak - great!
Open Gate, Tides of Fate and Deny Existence in this deck is more like a draw a card. So feel free to play it any time as long as Heirloom of Hyperborea is in play. But I would recommend you to keep one copy of Tides of Fate as it would be very useful at the late stage when there are too many s.
Close the Circle is added later because we have in this deck. Purchase it together with Occult Reliquary.
Rite of Equilibrium would be useful for cleaning :
- After you play the second copy of Spirit of Humanity, it and heal 2 damage and 2 horror, then in the second turn, play Tides of Fate and it again, then play Rite of Equilibrium to remove . Finally you heal 4 damage and 8 horror in 2 turns.
- When you run out of deck, play Rite of Equilibrium to add 10 and 10, then Agnes's ability to shuffle it into your deck, then Heirloom of Hyperborea to draw it immediately, then play it again to heal 10 horror. You may also play Tides of Fate first. In this way, this operation also eliminates all s which are added before!
- See the 0xp version here.
- This deck is expected to be fully functional at the end of Scenario 4.
