Introduction: As a first time Arkham player I thought I would try my first official attempt at deck building. I took inspiration from https://arkhamdb.com/user/profile/69988/HungryColquhoun, go check out his amazing decks. I had a lot of fun building this deck and I hope you all have fun playing with it like I did. Please leave a like and provide feedback!
Overview
- Mo Money: The Black Fan is the lynchpin of this deck. André is rewarded for hoarding resources with extra health and sanity, an extra action, and +1 to each of his skills. Well Connected and Easy Street reward us as well for our growing stash. The question then becomes how do we generate such resources. André’s elder sign generates 1 resource while cards like Thieves' Kit and Sticky Fingers reward us for investigating and evading enemies. Another Day, Another Dollar helps us start out with extra resources to get our economy engine going.
- Mo Problems: Paint the Town Red, while controversial of a choice, plays well into the decks theme of gambling enemy evasion for resources. Its ability to not only generate resources but also kickstart our engine by putting an enemy into play helps us continue tempo. Should any big enemies or Elites come into play, A Sudden Fall and Polished Cane give us excellent enemy handling. Out of Sight can give us an escape route if too many enemies are engaged with us.
- Evasion: Evasion is no problem for our Arkham Big Poppa, with his high base stat of 5. Olivier Bishop bumps us up to a 6 and provides us with a free move, allowing us to use our juicy 5 actions to do whatever else we need to keep tempo going.
- Oversuccess: André is all about Go Big or Go Home. His gator ability gets us another action for oversucceeding. Cards like Lucky Cigarette Case, Breaking and Entering, Right Under Their Noses, "Watch this!", Out of Sight, and Out the Door are all about succeeding and reward us with clue pickups, evasion, and resources. Our 10 total icons and 18 total icons help us to succeed these tests.
- Weaknesses: Like many rogues, André is susceptible to and tests. With Well Connected and Center Stage though, you should be able to pass any tests.
Conclusion: I have play tested this deck only a little but it plays well from my brief play though. It is meant for solo play but can be used in multiplayer as well. Thank you so much for taking a look at my deck!
