Ursula’s voyage might end right during this scenario. With all our skill cards we’re relatively well-suited for The City of Archives, but so many things could go wrong. There are two main situations I’m afraid of. First, getting an enemy before being able to play Dream Diary. On that note, isn’t it weird that Dream Diary is allowed at all? It’s not marked as unique, but I assume it specifically records Ursula’s dreams and not some unique ones. Can the Yithians replicate that? Let’s not dwell on it though, rather let’s point out the second situation. It’s not just possible, it’s probable that we’re draw into Call of the Unknown and then keep redrawing it. Worse, our counterplay choices are limited. We could either allocate actions on clearing it each turn or time or let it hit and then attempt to force a full deck reshuffle. We’ll try not to be too aggressive and not overreach. Except in the narrative terms. Normatively Ursula is belligerent and does her best to resist her captors and that includes taking out one Yithian Observer.

Veda is so usefulness! Actually, I would prefer if her ability was printed on Alejandro from the very beginning, but since we cannot turn back time I’m glad we have her in the Return. The foresight alone allowed Ursula to outmaneuver the Obscuring Fog and changed the risk-reward calculation on interviewing the subject early. Normally, the potential surge from Cruel Interrogations isn’t worth it, but here Veda can be trusted to take care of the problem. Oh, as for the Body of a Yithian, I’m of course using the reactions to double icons on tests, but it would be tedious and repetitive to log them. Assume everything is accounted for.

That Rotting Remains took out a significant chunk of Ursula's sanity. We've got four tasks done, so we are not in the clear as far as negative scenario consequences are concerned. However, the Deconstruction Room is close by, so getting the fifth task should be doable with relatively little risk. We won't be going towards the recently added southern part of Pnakotus, not with Call of the Unknown lurking in the deck. Besides, the Captive Subjects are there. Truth be told, Captive Subjects are ignorable and that, I think, is bad design. It fits the narrative, because subject won't leave their assigned restricted zone. Still, Ursula is able to ignore them, and even if she didn't the Captive Subjects wouldn't need to hunt her across the map.

Minus Five at Lost Humanity! Excellent. Dark Pact is removed from the game. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm dampened as soon as I saw the Call of the Unknown redrawn. Then, Ursula failed to satiate her wanderlust in the halls and that put her at one sanity and put us in crisis mode. Not to mention the reason I had Ursula come to the Towers of Pnakotus, the extra clues and 2 XP, are no longer attainable. Plus, we can no longer predict the encounter deck. So... Ursula, overcome and remember!

Oh, wow. That Cruel Interrogations and Rotting Remains combo. Ursula deftly avoided the enemies in the halls and went for the ten cards as soon as she possibly could. In retrospect, going for the Towers of Pnakotus was a mistake. But, I'm not so sure about Ursula interviewing the subject as her first action. That was probably the right call given the circumstances. In any case, only two more scenarios left. See you next time!
