This is a Diana deck that mostly aims to manage the encounter deck and defend the investigators from enemies. In longer scenarios it ought to have enough time to set up a creative way to use Speak to the Dead to recycle spells from the discard pile.

Opening Hand and Setup

Your mulligan should be spent looking for items to play with Geared Up, possibly using Backpack to fetch more. Remember that you can stow an Emergency Cache if you run across one during the search.

Improving Diana’s Stat

There are 7 cards included that cancel or ignore. You start with the unparalleled Dark Insight in your opening hand. The others are Dark Prophecy, Deny Existence, and Ward of Protection. Try to keep one Ward of Protection in the discard pile so it’s available for re-use via Speak to the Dead.

Finding Clues

For clues we have two options and they’re both testless, which is particularly valuable at high-shroud locations. Drawn to the Flame can be used to trigger a treachery (that you can even cancel). At the cost of adding a doom token, the new String of Curses can auto-evade an enemy while snatching a clue in the bargain. And that doom token may not matter if they’re eliminated before advancing the agenda.

Managing Enemies

Given her mediocre stat, Diana won’t always be eliminating baddies with ease. This features passive cards like Guard Dog and Survival Knife which can combine for 3 damage and uses no actions!

If you haven’t played the survival knife (or need to soften up the enemy first) the Enchanted Blade is handy. And late in the scenario you might prefer using her improved stat with Brand of Cthugha.

Passing tests with her average is made easier with the Wolf Mask and a selection of skill cards to commit.

Recycling Your Spells

This deck is set up to recycle spells. Once you have both Favor of the Moon and a Tempt Fate in hand play them (both are fast) and you’ll bank all of the tokens. Whenever you manage to play Speak to the Dead those tokens will guarantee recycling up to 6 spells like Ward of Protection. In a pinch you could use Dark Prophecy and hope to spot a .

Advancement

Zero new cards are planned for this deck, it only ever improves existing cards to benefit from Down the Rabbit Hole. First priority is Backpack for better openings, then Brand of Cthugha. After that you can do as you see fit. Note that this suggested upgrade path can get quite a lot of mileage out of just a few XP; the deck you see here buys 46 xp worth of cards for only 29 experience!

Thanks to @mugu for the Favor of the Moon/Speak to the Dead combo idea.

Good luck, please report if you give this one a try!

Interesting take on recycling your spells using Speak to the Dead and Favor of the Moon. This way, you can reuse the cancel/ignore cards you've ineffeciently used to pump your quickly. I'll probably add Rod of Carnamagos since you're already leaning into curses.

minor oversight: I should have listed the Enchanted Blade instead of the Enchanted Blade, since she needs the horror healing more than one extra charge!

Hi, could you explain how could you acquire the brand of Chtugha in the base deck (0Exp) of Diana in case of not having “in the thick of it” or initial experience enough? I’m interested (but yet confused hahaha)

Oversight on my part! It should absolutely have In the Thick of It from the start in order to include Brand of Cthugha (1) and two copies of Favor of the Moon (1) from the get-go.

Thanks for spotting my error.
