Roland just wants to kill & find clues. That's what this deck does...It does it well....ideally with a partner who's good at evasions & will power (Angus!)

.45 Automatic & Machete is enough firepower up until Roland draws Roland's .38 Special. And for those special moments - Roland has Dynamite Blast (despite it costing a 'bomb') ....

Evidence!, Vicious Blow, Overpower & Roland's special ability, all combo-up with his fighting abilities.

To investigate reliably, Roland has Dr. Milan Christopher & Flashlight. Working a Hunch, & Perception synergise with his investigations. Skills with multiple test icons rather than just 1 like Deduction makes more sense.

First Aid will restore sanity given there are no beat cops or guard dogs to help. Emergency Cache is for burst-eco. Dodge is to prevent horror attacks.

Physical Training & Unexpected Courage to avoid those treacherous surprises from the encounter deck .... Resources from Dr. Milan Christopher's ability will help towards pumping Physical Training

Ideal starting hand: Dr. Milan Christopher, Machete, Physical Training, Unexpected Courage, Perception

Deck's weaknesses: There is no draw engine. You will need to spend actions to draw cards, ideally your last action. Must find Dr. Milan Christopher otherwise resources will fall short & a Machete early to get past those Ghoul Minions. Only protection against will power and dexterity tests is Unexpected Courage (watch out for that encounter deck!)

Upgrade strategy: Police Badge for a Dynamite Blast, x2 Cryptic Research for x2 Perception. All in this order....

About your upgrade strategy, I'm affraid Roland Banks' deck building restrictions won't allow using Cryptic Research. It's a lvl 4 seeker card and Roland can only use seeker cards op to lvl 2.

The deck itself looks alright, but to my personal taste it doesn't need that much cards that boost investigating. Instead I would try to cover his weak spots. With Roland I tend to struggle with the willpower tests, especially later on in the campaign, so I always try to include Guts.

On the subject of Dr. Milan Christopher vs. Beat Cop, I'm still trying to make up my mind. May I ask why you chose the doctor over the cop in your deck?

Hey @Heyenzzz thanks for pointing out the cryptic research limitation...

The Dr's crucial to this deck's strategy. He hands those precious resources to pump up physical training. & easily saves me 5-7 actions for resources. If you struggle with will power tests, physical training's a better insurance policy than Guts. Hope that helps you decide which ally to choose?

Lol you said Angus on top instead of Agnes. Sounds delicious!
