This is a 50/50 flex deck which relies on Sixth Sense for consistent clueing and Enchanted Blade (later, Switchblade) for consistent damage. Dexter's rogue splash allows him to use several of these actions in succession efficiently with Leo De Luca and, later, Haste.

When he hasn't found his assets yet, Dexter is drawing through his deck using Scroll of Prophecies, Lucky Cigarette Case, Arcane Initiate, Molly Maxwell, Haste (3x draw action), "You owe me one!", Calling in Favors, Quantum Flux, and Overpower.

Spectral Razor and Drawn to the Flame help him fight or clue when he hasn't yet found his assets or he needs the boost.

One Shrivelling is here for dealing with high-combat enemies (bosses). Haste will be taking up our second arcane slot, so Robes of Endless Night helps us hold onto it until absolutely necessary. Sixth Sense will unfortunately be discarded, but it can easily be regained with the Quantum Flux Molly Maxwell combo.

Later on, The Skeleton Key and Sixth Sense can allow him to gather clues from his and connecting locations with little risk of failure, safely hoovering 5-10 clues/turn with Leo De Luca and Haste while activating up to 2x Lucky Cigarette Case with Relic Hunter. The to pick up The Skeleton Key hurts much less thanks to Haste.

His allows Arcane Initiate and, more importantly, David Renfield to be discard at will to get rid of their doom tokens. It also makes juggling assets both more resource and action efficient especially those with used up charges (Scroll of Prophecies, Shrivelling, Gregory Gry, and Liquid Courage).

Quantum Flux allows him to mitigate his self-mill and recycle assets he can immediately redraw with Molly Maxwell.

Molly Maxwell enables him to find any asset he needs thanks to this deck having mostly unique traits for each. Because of this, many of the niche assets in this deck are 1-ofs:

After playing Return to Dunwich, I've found Calling in Favors and Arcane Initiate seldom used. Surprisingly, I didn't make much use of Lucky Cigarette Case either because I rarely had skill tests to perform before my assets were out at which point I no longer needed card draw. Switchblade was used more often as a way to play my other assets fast using Dexter's ability (but that may have changed if it weren't for a combat-heavy partner). Dexter turned out to be a clue gathering monster once Rite of Seeking and Haste were out. Leo De Luca was icing on the cake with that engine.

As expected, Molly Maxwell was extremely useful for getting the engine started. Most scenarios began with me drawing until I found her or Sixth Sense.

If I were to play him again, I'd lean more into the Rite of Seeking - Haste - Leo De Luca combo and perhaps include better deck cycling cards like Easy Mark. This combo is so strong that I ended with a full hand and 15+ resources every time because there just wasn't anything else worth playing. For this reason, the deck may be better with more fast asset and event cards like Elusive to augment the efficiency even more.
