I have a limited collection, wish I could play Occult Lexicon and Astounding Revelation, but I don't own the cards.
Anyway, this build tries to do it all, as it should in solo. Some notes:
- I pretty much treat Daisy as having just one hand slot due to her The Necronomicon. Hence Old Book of Lore is the only hand-slot asset, with the exception of Encyclopedia. I'd rather not play Encyclopedia at all - no need to bother with Daisy's Tote Bag - but that seems to be wrong given the deck has Research Librarian and versatility-wise.
- A lot of situational one-offs as we have card selection every turn.
- Only one copy of Dr. William T. Maleson. Good soak but sometimes just sits there. Clue-dropping at odds with "I've got a plan!".
- Only one Disc of Itzamna, expensive and does not help with spawned enemies.
- Two Research Librarians since this is an Old Book of Lore deck Also needed for high-power XP tomes later on. Although I hate to play it without Astounding Revelation.
- Only one Deduction since this is a solo deck. Also, 5 Intellect in itself covers the clue-gathering part of the game pretty good. Slots allocated to help with other aspects.
- Five economy cards to make sure we play what we need, Emergency Cache the worst of the bunch due to no icons. Four seemed not enough in testing.
- First XP goes into fight version of Strange Solution. Then just good cards like Cryptic Research, Eon Chart, Pathfinder and the powerful tomes like Prophesiae Profana. Another very useful upgrade seems to be Survey the Area - for 7 Evade that can be spent on an Int test as well.
- Not playing Dr. Milan Christopher since solo does not have as many opportunities to investigate. Much rather make sure to have the old book from Turn 1 for max value.
- No taboo, as this is solo Daisy.
I had a great experience with this deck in my first scenario of Dunwich completing it with a lot of time on the agenda left. The deck is really fun and has a lot of answers operating as a toolbox. Will see how it goes from there.
Thoughts and suggestions welcome.
