Some card choices explained:

  1. Why no Manual Dexterity? Eh, with 2 foot, we're not going to pass foot tests or evade, so whatever.
  2. Why no Medical Texts? I decided that it's too slow and a bit unreliable. Plus, we're getting Encyclopedia soon, so we don't need too many books. But a case could definitely be made! Heal your low health, maybe help your fighters survive.
  3. Why Scrying? Well, not like we have many other options, anyway. And it could protect you from Grasping Hands, or give Ancient Evils to you, so that you could cancel it with Ward of Protection. Or give your enemies to the party's fighter.
  4. Why Arcane Studies? Again, we don't have much options. Plus, with Milan, we're going to be getting a lot of resources, and this is a way of utilizing it. I've decided to take this over Hyperawareness, for reasons similar to not running Manual Dexterity. I'd rather improve my okay odds of passing a head check to good than try to fix bad odds of passing foot tests, and spending all I have on that.

Upgrades:

  1. x2 Drawn to the Flame -> x2 Bulletproof Vest Helps you not die, which is much better than dying in my experience. Also, we're going to be getting clues easily anyway, so we don't really need Drawn to the Flame. Still, it's a good card, and testless clues is nice, so I've decided to run it in the 0 xp version.
  2. x2 Scrying -> x2 Encyclopedia I kiiinda didn't want to cut Scrying, but it takes so many actions that it feels bad to use, even though sometimes it sort of saves you actions, as well.
  3. x2 Unexpected Courage -> x2 Disc of Itzamna A bit questionable upgrade. I think the Disc is really good. We have the money to play it, it protects us from enemies and saves time for our fighter. And Night of the Zealot is very combat heavy, so it's going to help for sure.
  4. x2 Arcane Studies We don't really need it, but 2 resources is 2 resources
  5. x2 Magnifying Glass We don't need it, and in this deck the added ability doesn't really help much. So this is definitely a luxury upgrade.

Another really good option is Cryptic Research. Probably drop flashlights for it? Our books and Mag Glasses take the hand slots anyway
