Leo's Doomed Adventure #2: The Last King | 4 | 1 | 0 | 1.0 |
Magnificate · 1209
Opening Hand: Leo De Luca, Flashlight, Beat Cop, Elusive, Perception
#1
- PLAY Leo De Luca
- Leo or Dario, that was the question. In the end I've decided that alliteration matters and included Leo in the deck. Of course, the problem with Leo is that he eats up all available resources and without Charisma edges out all other allies.
- MOVE to Lobby
- MOVE to Balcony
- I've got Flashlight in hand, but Leo has precious few investigation boosts, so whenever I can I'll be attempting these tests raw.
- INVESTIGATE (-1, discover 1 clue at Balcony)
- MOVE to Lobby
- Upkeep: draw Inspiring Presence, gain 1 resource.
#2
- Mythos: 1 doom, The King's Edict surges into Rotting Remains ()
- RESOURCE
- PLAY Flashlight
- MOVE to Lobby Doorway (Green Room)
- I can make just one serious attempt at passing this test, since I'd much rather keep the Beat Cop and Elusive.
- Flashlight (2 supplies left, commit Perception & Inspiring Presence, -1, draw Survival Knife, discover 1 clue at Green Room)
- Upkeep: draw Doomed (1 horror on Leo De Luca), gain 1 resource.
- BOOM!
#3
- Mythos: 2 doom, The King's Edict surges into Twisted to His Will (0)
- MOVE to Lobby
- MOVE to Lobby Doorway (Box Office)
- Steal from Box Office
- PLAY Survival Knife
- Upkeep: draw Lone Wolf, gain 1 resource.
- At the moment Leo has cash stuffed into his pockets and no Keen Eye to spend it on, so there's little point in playing Lone Wolf.
#4
- Mythos: 3 doom, Fanatic (spawns at Lobby)
- Come to think of it, maybe leaving the Green Room to the fanatics would be more convenient. Slight missplay.
- MOVE to Lobby
- Survival Knife (, 1 damage to Fanatic)
- Survival Knife ()
- Survival Knife (0, defeat Fanatic, discover 1 clue)
- advance Awakening to The Stranger (The Man in the Pallid Mask spawns at Lobby Doorway)
- Interesting. This means Leo can abandon the backstage locations entirely. On the other hand, there are two relatively easy victory points there and Leo has Elusive. Then again, Leo is an old man and I think he might've learned to play it safe over the years.
- Upkeep: draw Mitch Brown, gain 1 resource.
#5
- Mythos: 4 doom, Dissonant Voices
- MOVE to Lobby Doorway (Lighting Box)
- Flashlight (1 supply left, -2)
- Flashlight (no supplies left, , discover 1 clue at Lighting Box)
- ENGAGE The Man in the Pallid Mask
- Enemy: The Man in the Pallid Mask attacks (1 horror)
- Leo doesn't get to retaliate with his trusty knife since Pallid Guy only deals horror. He can afford some horror in exchange for not losing an action next round.
- Upkeep: draw Bought in Blood (discard Leo De Luca), gain 1 resource, discard Dissonant Voices.
- Awww... That's the second weakness.
Leo's boardstate: 8 health, 5 sanity, 7 resources, 1 clue.
In play: Survival Knife & Flashlight (0 supplies)
In hand: Beat Cop, Elusive, Lone Wolf, Mitch Brown
#6
- Mythos: 5 doom, Poltergeist
- Eeeep...
- PLAY Beat Cop
- Survival Knife (+1, 1 damage to The Man in the Pallid Mask)
- Survival Knife (-1, 1 damage to The Man in the Pallid Mask)
- Survival Knife (, defeat The Man in the Pallid Mask)
- advance The Stranger to Curtain Call (Lighting Box, Box Office & Green Room are flooded, two tokens added to the chaos bag)
- Elusive to Balcony (commit Mitch Brown & Lone Wolf, )
- It worked out. Thankfully.
- Upkeep: draw Perception, gain 1 resource, Lobby is flooded.
#7
- Mythos: The Third Act advances to Encore (Royal Emissary spawns at Theatre), Swarm of Rats
- Survival Knife (, defeat Swarm of Rats)
- So many skull tokens drawn. It's fortunate that Leo manages his sanity well.
- MOVE to Lobby
- DRAW Elusive
- Royal Emissary hunts and attacks (2 damage, Survival Knife, , 2 damage to Royal Emissary), 1 horror on Beat Cop,
- Upkeep: draw Machete, gain 1 resource, Balcony & Theatre are flooded.
#8
- Mythos: 1 doom, Fanatic (spawns at Lighting Box)
- Again I missed out on fanatics clearing out XP locations. As a consolation prize, we'll imagine him dealing with the ghost.
- Survival Knife (, 1 damage to Royal Emissary)
- Survival Knife (-2, defeat Royal Emissary)
- Encore resets to The Third Act
- PLAY Machete (discard Flashlight)
- Dual-wielding! That's actually a combination I expect to be used in multi rather than in solo, but it turns out Leo gets to look badass in solo as well.
- Upkeep: draw Survival Knife, gain 1 resource, Backstage is flooded.
#9
- Mythos: 4 doom, Spirit's Torment
- Let's pretend that reads Fanatic's Demise instead. OK? OK.
- ENGAGE The Man in the Pallid Mask
- Machete (commit Survival Knife, , 1 horror)
- Machete (+1, 2 damage to The Man in the Pallid Mask)
- Beat Cop (defeat The Man in the Pallid Mask)
- Upkeep: draw Emergency Cache, gain 1 resource.
#10
- Mythos: 5 doom, Descent into Madness surges into Whispers in Your Head (Dread)
- RESIGN, R2.
- Well done, Leo! With the Flashlight available from the beginning and Pallid Guy spawning in the lobby it was a relatively clean run. Leo even managed to escape to slog through rising water to escape the ghost. Could've been much worse, I'd say.
Campaign Log:
Curtain Call: The Stranger is onto Leo! Leo chose not to go to the police! Doom approaches! 5 XP (Royal Emissary, Balcony, Green Room, Lighting Box), Stranger Tally: 2, Conviction Tally: 0, Doubt Tally: 1.

Nov 01, 2018He stayed in the Lighting box location when Leo left with Elusive |
Jan 14, 2019Why did you make a skill check when playing Elusive in turn 6? You just pay the 2 resources and move - no skill check is needed. |
Feb 12, 2019In Act3 you have 3 different ground effects, where evil things happen when you do not pass an agi check. (Onecancles your movement) |
What happened to the poltergeist on turn 6
