Intro: As soon as I saw Dayana Esperence I thought that she would be incredible in the right deck. The goal of this deck is to be a competent clue-getter, while you set up to put either the upgraded Deny Existence or upgraded Ward of Protection onto Dayana Esperence and copy it over and over again. In a best case scenario you will be able to copy it for MORE than 3 uses by using Enraptured or Truth from Fiction to add secrets.

Breakdown: The initial deck has 2 copies of Delve Too Deep in it that will get replaced with Dayana. This in combination with 2 copies of Arcane Research should mean that you will upgrade fairly quickly. One note of potential concern is that certain Basic Weaknesses would probably make this deck pretty bad, as you rely heavily on pulling cards with Mr. Rook. #Doomed for example would be particularly bad in campaign play.

Noteworthy cards:

Alyssa Graham: I like that her doom ability synergizes with Marie's investigator ability AND you can get an extra free use of her ability with Mystifying Song. Or you can use her ability for a few rounds, probably to avoid drawing a monster that you would struggle with, and then use Calling in Favors or Moonlight Ritual to deal with the doom. In addition, the intellect bonus is pretty helpful for your role as a clue-getter.

Arcane Initiate: Works similarly to Alyssa above. Plus being able to get more spells in your hands quickly will be helpful.

David Renfield: You can also use him in combo with Moonlight Ritual as well as get an extra free use of him with Mystifying Song. Or just use him for a few turns and then kill him off or pull him back into your hand with Calling in Favors

Dayana Esperence: The focal point of the deck. Depending on the scenario, it might be more beneficial to copy Ward of Protection, Deny Existence, or even Storm of Spirits. Of course you can always use the 2nd copy of Dayana to copy a different event, or bounce her back to your hand with Calling in Favors. You can also add more secrets with Truth from Fiction, or Enraptured.

Mr. "Rook": Extremely helpful to get your combo in place. When you run out of secrets you can use the 2nd copy, bounce him back to your hand with Calling in Favors, or add more secrets with Truth from Fiction, or Enraptured.

Peter Sylvestre: With double Arcane Research, as well as cards like Shrivelling, taking too much horror will be something of a problem. Getting Peter out tends to solve that problem.

Disclaimer: It is possible that I have too many allies in this deck, I would note though that you will want to churn your allies to a certain extent, whether to kill them off if they have doom on them, or just because they run out of secrets.

Moonlight Ritual: Should be beneficial with cards that can get doom on them to avoid triggering the Act Deck Early. Also helps you to more consistently have the benefit of your investigator ability.

Calling in Favors: A great card to get extra secrets out of Mr. "Rook" or Dayana Esperence, to take Doom off the board by picking up Arcane Initiate or David Renfield or maybe just to swap a good ally for something more essential.

Concerns: The biggest problem is that you are not especially good at fighting or taking damage. You can die quick if you you have to deal with many monsters. ESPECIALLY if you have Baron Samedi in play, which will be a significant amount of the time, since you are using Mr. "Rook" so heavily. Upgraded Deny Existence, can help with that, especially if you end up copying it on Dayana Esperence. Also using Alyssa Graham to avoid monsters will help. You do have a good number of allies that can take a hit for you if needed. Your teammates also might need to help out to keep you alive.

Mulligan Strategy: I would definitely Keep Mr. "Rook" (as he will help you pick up other pieces that you might need). Dayana Esperence of course is the cornerstone of the deck and makes sense to keep. I would also keep upgraded Ward of Protection or Deny Existence.

Upgrade Path: I think getting Dayana Esperence and Charisma should be the top priority. Other cards can be upgraded over time using Arcane Research. Beyond the upgrades that I have shown here, I would probably prioritize another Deny Existence, upgrading Rite of Seeking.

Would this actually work with Mystifying Song ? I think we'd need a ruling on that because I doubt it tbh.

It's a non-weakness spell event so it qualifies. What makes you think it wouldn't?

LOL. Just noticed that you remove Mystifying Song from the game. You are probably right!
