Hello Fellow investigators

Welcome to my structure deck series!

Concept

We finished with the core set and we decided to buy the whole Dunwich Cycle to feel the Arkham experience. We 'll discuss the new cards we added in our deck and which upgrade choices we take in solo and multiplayer.

I will focus on 19 XP upgrade routes since this is pretty much average in my Dunwich runs. I will also create decks of the Dunwich investigators and I will upgrade everyone setting as the final cycle The Forgotten Age. In the Circle Undone, Taboo List was introduced and I think you will already know the advantages/disadvantages of your favorite investigator in order to create your unique deck.

Let start with the show, shall we?

Gameplay

We did only a few changes in the deck since we focus on the Will to Survive upgrade route with the new strong addition of The Red-Gloved Man and we need to thin our deck out. Many things will be changed in the Path of Carcosa cycle so stay tuned!

That being said let's talk about our new card choices:

Fire Axe can help us effectively to kill low health monsters. It's cheap and we can combine it with Flashlight for a good start. Unlike Baseball Bat it doesn't require two hand slots but it lacks the consistent +1 dmg although you can learn to play around its ability to deal dmg with it. In the end, the biggest advantage of this card is that it opens 8 card slots unlike Baseball Bat. We removed 2x Scavenging because the real reason to keep it was to bring back Baseball Bat and Knife. Plus, we don't need 2x Hard Knocks since Fire Axe is like a boosting stat weapon of its own. With the addition of Scrapper Hard Knocks is irrelevant now. That's a total of 8 new cards.

Fine Clothes is pretty strong if you start with a specific scenario and it's a good body item to start your campaign. Lone Wolf is a great solo card. Try to keep it in your opening hand to get full advantage of this card. It combos pretty well with Fire Axe and Scrapper. In multiplayer you cant use it since most of the time you 'll be with another investigator at the same location and we swap it with 2x Elusive to get some mobility and move around the locations. Remember that you don't need to be engaged with an enemy in order to use Elusive and you can to any revealed location on the map not just your connecting ones.

Again I need to mention Leo De Luca. He is pretty good in a Wendy Adams deck especially with the addition of Charisma, you can have him and The Red-Gloved Man for that extra action. Although in Multiplayer if any fellow investigator wants him (especially the new investigators from Dunwich cycle) then you can swap him with your new friend Peter Sylvestre. He gives +1 and his upgrade version is even better horror shield.

Finally the new VIP card of our deck: Double or Nothing. Commit it to a Backstab fight to deal 6 damage in one test, BOOM! What's even greater with this card is that you can play it on a Will to Survive / The Red-Gloved Man turn for maximum efficiency!

Upgrade Route

Again your best choice is the Will to Survive/ The Red-Gloved Man combo. If you have a fellow player with "Skids" O'Toole or Roland Banks he can play Police Badge for a free action.

Upgrade your 2x Leo De Luca Leo De Luca

Buy 1x Charisma to have both Leo De Luca and The Red-Gloved Man on the play to gain that extra action from Leo.

Scrapper a great boost for both and tests.

1x Fine Clothes The Red-Gloved Man

2x Perception Will to Survive

If you have xp to spare then go for 2x Lucky! Lucky!

Summary

Again our little Orphan creates some crazy combos out of her sleeve. Will to Survive becomes more powerful with the addition of Double or Nothing and The Red-Gloved Man and can create a One-Turn overkill. You have two things to worry about: 1) resource management especially with Fire Axe and Scrapper and 2) find key cards to create your combo so try to thin your deck fast. If you can overcome these two tasks by playing again and again then you will have explosive turns, especially in Multiplayer.

I hope you liked the options above and we 'll continue with Skids new deck.

To be continued..

@francois999 I'm glad it helped you! The main focus of the series is to help newcomers understand the investigators and their deck choices and you can change one-two cards fitting your playstyle or theme of your deck :)

Thanks for this deck, I only have Dunwich's basic box and I have replaced 4 cards from your list that I do not have, Fine Clothes and Lone Wolf, by 2 Unexpected Courage, 1 Leather Coat and 1 Peter Silvestre. Could you suggest other options or can this go well with these changes? Thank you

@BelialSpain hello my friend. These are good options! My go would be 2x Elusive, 1x Leather Coat and a knife :) If you only have the Dunwich box and not the whole campaign then go for 2x Peter Sylvestre instead of Leo since you will only play two scenarios.

Thanks for these great decks. Sadly, I only got 3xp from the Midnight campaign, so I am going into the 3rd campaign of the core with only 3 to spend. Dunwich will be my next box.

@artyzipp Good choice! Delve into the game little by little. Don't overspend. Try all the characters!

Thanks for this! I am a new Revised Core player not understanding how to deck build, and have the new dunwich expansions too

Great guides, I found the Dunwich series decks really helpful for trying to evenly distribute cards so each investigator can have a 'starter' of sorts if friends want to jump in and play.

One upgrade I found really helpful for this deck was to push for Emergency CacheX2 instead of Lucky!, as I found it super useful to recur with Wendy's Amulet.
