Hello Fellow investigators

Welcome to my structure deck series!

Concept

We finally finished with Dunwich Legacy and moved to Path to Carcosa. Our new card pool contains all the cards of the new cycle. We will discuss our new choices in our deck and which upgrade choices we take in solo and multiplayer.

In this cycle, we will have an average of 25-28 XP to spend on our upgrade routes. I will also create decks of the Carcosa investigators and I will upgrade everyone to the final cycle of The Forgotten Age. In the Circle Undone, Taboo List was introduced and I think you will already know the advantages/disadvantages of your favorite investigator in order to create your unique deck.

Finally, forgive me if I don't deck build more often but quarantine in our country is over and we start working again. That means less time for me to write and playtest some investigators with their deck(with the current card pool) I create in order to be efficient for you.

Let start with the show, shall we?

Gameplay

In your multiplayer games swap:

2x Lone Wolf 2x Sleight of Hand

Sleight of Hand. In your first scenario, you were pretty weak grabbing clues in Solo. Your only boost was Unexpected Courage until you get your Streetwise in Dunwich Legacy. Now with Sleight of Hand you can play Flashlight and have a full round of investigation before it returns to your hand. Also, a cheap round of .45 Automatic can be useful too. Later on, the campaign Sleight of Hand will be there for your Lupara. As Skids, you can create a powerful combo play Sleight of Hand/Lupara/Double or Nothing/Vicious Blow dealing 8 dmg per action at the cost of 1 resource. Add Backstab for extra flavor! The only drawback of this card is that if you already played your weapons then it will be a dead card in your hand.

Our deck remains pretty much the same and the only addition is:

"Watch this!". Playing as Skids you really need resources in order to boost your low stats and play your expensive assets. This card comes in handy and can really solve your economy problem. It can help you with Hospital Debts and can be combined with Double or Nothing for even more resources. Try and use it on tests or tests where you can actually succeed by 1 or more.

Honorable Mentions:

Narrow Escape is a great card that can be useful in specific circumstances. Not as powerful as the generic Dodge but you can play your weapon, cancel the attack from your enemy and then attack him with +2 . Also the 2 test icons are pretty nice. In solo/multiplayer Dodge is superior since it can block any attack(retaliate, attacks of opportunity, enemy phase attacks). Powerful tool in other green investigators who don't have access to Dodge.

"I'm outta here!". Consider adding one copy of this card if you're going to add Charon's Obol. It is your safety net and it can save you from a dire situation.

Upgrade Route

We got some great new cards for SKids. Our core build no matter the route is:

1x Adaptable. If it wasn't for Flashlight I would take Sleight of Hand later in the campaign when I will get Lupara/Chicago Typewriter. You will always tweak your deck depending on the scenario and this card is there for you especially in multiplayer.

1x Streetwise

2x Guard Dog 2x Beat Cop

1x Charon's Obol Buy it after your first scenario or don't buy it at all. If you are feeling comfortable with it then go for it! Don't forget to add "I'm outta here!" for safety net.

2x Flashlight 1x Lockpicks. This card is your new VIP card. It will boost your skill to 7 making low shroud locations easy to grab clues and keep the supplies. In high shroud locations, you can combine it with Streetwise if you want more chances to succeed with 2 or more.

Just like Dunwich, there are two basic routes:

Multiplayer SKids: This route focuses on The Gold Pocket Watch to add valuable actions to you and your teammates. Your role is generic by helping killing monsters with Lupara and grabbing clues with Lockpicks. You can help other investigators by swapping cards with Adaptable (Contraband, Dynamite Blast, Police Badge, Extra Ammunition)

1x .45 Automatic/1x Flashlight 1x Lupara. I prefer Lupara over Chicago Typewriter for 2 reasons. First, since you won't be the main fighter in your group the immune to attacks of opportunity is nice for Skids. Secondly, it doesn't occupy a 2nd hand slot and it won't mess with your Lockpicks and Machete. Finally, you will mostly use it for the Sleight of Hand combo so the two ammo doesn't really matter much.

1x Elusive Pickpocketing

1x Elusive 1x Hot Streak

2x Vicious Blow 2x Vicious Blow

1x Physical Training 1x The Gold Pocket Watch

Now depending on your teammates, you can play around with your upgrades like Brother Xavier, Police Badge, Extra Ammunition.

Solo Skids: The upgrades are the same and instead of picking The Gold Pocket Watch you will pick Ace in the Hole. If you have more XP add a 2nd Lupara to have more weapon options in your deck.

Honorable Mention: Cheat Death. If you have the XP you may consider this card for the last scenario where things are going pretty down to the hill. Otherwise don't consider to buy it early on. It goes well with Charon's Obol but if you really afraid so much that it will make you add Cheat Death early on then why even bother yourself to add Charon's Obol?

Summary

While you won't see many changes in his starting deck as Skids you gain more depth while you upgrade it. Adaptable is a great card that helps you play around depending on the scenario. Lockpicks gave SKids specifically in Solo the comfort of not spending resources on Streetwise for gaining clues. Finally, the new addition of Sleight of Hand gave him an explosive turn like Wendy Adams does have. Now you can deal insane damage to the Elite Enemy and kill him in one turn. The only downside with this build is that you need preparation costing you a few rounds before you have your card pieces of the puzzle.

Ok, so with this deck I guess you have to already know the scenarios which you are going to play. Adaptable doesnt really make sense if I play a campaign for the first time, right? We will be starting Carcosa soon for the first time, I want to play Skid but not sure wether to take this deck...
