Purpose of this deck:

Action efficent, agile mystic, specialized both in clueing and fighting.

The main idea here is to optimize Marie's bonus action, by having atleast 1 doom on a card we control all the time and a way to remove it before the agenda advances.

The other cards are mainly events, focused either on action efficiency, passing the tests, or protecting yourself from the mythos.

Having atleast 1 of our allies in play is crucial and should be primary target during the mulligan.

Pro's:

  • Balanced base stats for mythos protection and evading monsters;
  • Good at clueing, given the 4 ;
  • 4-action turns
  • Action efficiency

Con's:

Dealing with enemies: Our main tools for dealing with enemies are Azure Flame and Shrivelling.

Other reliable source of damage comes from Spectral Razor and Storm of Spirits. Do not use Storm of Spirits unless there are atleast 2 enemies in your locations.

If non of these are available, Marie can evade relatively easy with her base 3 , which can be increased futher by Track Shoes.

Our main tool for evading will be Suggestion, which most likely would never run out of charges.

Marie can protect herself from enemies' attacks with Deny Existence or Suggestion.

Clueing: The deck has 4 events that let us gather 2 clues from a location - Drawn to the Flame, "Look what I found!" and Read the Signs.

Other than that, investigation shouldn't be an issue with the help of Flashlight or her base 4 .

Resources and card draw: This is where our allies comes in help and this is why Charisma is a must have. Marie needs lots of recources and the main way to gather those should be David Renfield. Always pay attention to the doom threshold and use Moonlight Ritual or Mystifying Song to prevent the agenda from advancing, in order to generate maximum profit from David.

The only other card for resource efficiency is Uncage the Soul, which should be used to build our mystic assets or commited to skills tests later in the scenario.

Marie can run out of cards very quickly. To prevent that we use Occult Lexicon and Arcane Initiate. Crystal Pendulum is another way to draw more cards and boost our in the same time.

Where's does the action efficiency comes from?: Obviously our main goal is to have atleast 1 doom on a card we control, and enough resources and/or cards to use the extra action.

The cards that let us do that are:

Remember that you can use Blood Pact to boost each of your tests during the turn, preceding the agenda's advance without a penalty.

Other than that, we focus on assets and events that let us deal 2+ dmg with 1 action or discover 2 clues with single action.

Track Shoes is a nice addition, with a possible free movement, if you manage to pass a 3 test.

Knowledge is Power is key event, as it let us use our strongest spells or assets one more time, without spending and action or charge.

Dealing with Baron Samedi: Dealing with the Baron might be really hard in certain scenarios, where the doom threshold is too short. Discarding him by having 3 doom on him should be a priority and Mystifying Song help us do that.

Charisma is one of the best ways to mitigate some of the Baron's weaknesses.

The upgraded Scrying could also be used to delay drawing him.

Keep in mind that:

  • The doom on Baron himself gives us a free action
  • He takes up an ally slot. If you don't have Charisma, you are in trouble
