Shotgun Sniper Mark

Context

Three players headed into The Dream-Eaters and (fan made) Return to The Innsmouth Conspiracy campaigns blind. Mark is accompanied by Darrell "Clue Connoisseur" Simmons and "Token Sealer" Akachi.

Investigating Arkham's horrors presents two core problems; clues and enemies. Mark, guardian and soldier, will take on the tangible manifestations of the Mythos, locked and loaded.

Shotgun Sniper

Being the dedicated enemy handler, you either have to be extra mobile, have fast engage options or be able to pull enemies off your team mates. Or, slap a tabooed scope on your one-shot-one-kill weapon and pick off enemies from a comfortable distance.

The current taboo of Telescopic Sight removes the text:
“Attached asset cannot be used to attack enemies engaged with you.”

Shotgun doesn't come cheap, nor with much ammo, but using it is arguably the most fun to be had with a firearm in the game. Usually a skill test is pass/fail, with minor extras to be had with an excess of skill to test value. But with the Shotgun, that excess is very meaningful, every time.

Starting out at 8 (Mark & Shotgun) these are the deck's combat boosters:
  +2 Sophie
  +2 Custom Mods (Extended Stock)
  +2 Cleaning Kit (Upgraded)
+2 Well Prepared (With Shotgun in play)
  +1 Grete Wagner
  +2 Girish Kadakia
  +2 tokens from Ancestral Token

Custom Mods (Quicksilver Bullets) also increased the damage potential to a cultist liquefying 6 damage per shot if the skill value is 5+ more than the test value. With Akachi sealing tokens in the background, this should happen a lot.

The idea being to build a board state with which any non-elite enemy can comfortably be one-shotted, either at Mark's location or a connecting location, and without risk to his fellow investigators (Notched Sight on Custom Mods).

Consistently getting to such a board state is the next challenge.
Stick to the Plan ensures that Custom Mods
                                                     Ever Vigilant
                                                     Prepared for the Worst
are always available, despite only including one of each in the deck.

Upgraded Backpack helps dig for Shotgun, Telescopic Sight and Cleaning Kit. Second Wind and Soothing Melody (from HM) enable Sophie usage and the extra card draw Mark gets from it.

Cleaning Kit is the main munitions supply for the Shotgun, restockable with upgraded Emergency Cache in the mid and late game, where Relentless helps fund whatever needs played.

Clues will primarily be acquired through upgraded Grete Wagner, though with his array of skill boosters, Mark can occasionally investigate effectively once set up.
