Opening Hand: Track Shoes, Waylay, Flashlight, Peter Sylvestre, Newspaper

Dr. Armitage needs someone to fetch his esteemed colleagues. Fast. It does make sense for him to think of Rita first, doesn't it? Alas, Dr. Armitage assumes she'll only be there to take care of the busywork and perhaps assist with overcoming some minor obstacles. But saving the world on her own? Bah!

Rita's Boardstate: 9 health, 5 sanity, 1 clue, 2 resources

In Play: Flashlight (1 supply), Newspaper, Peter Sylvestre (1 horror)

In Hand: 2x Last Chance, 2x Track Shoes, Waylay

Threat: Whippoorwill

Solid beginning! However, Rita is being stalled by the encounter deck throwing enemy after enemy at her. She manages them well, but 1-health enemies or those that are defeated when evaded play to her strengths. What happens when she runs out of Waylays? BTW, I was considering running Cheap Shots instead of Waylays, but as it turns out Cheap Shots wouldn't be of much use in the above situation.

Rita's Boardstate: 9 health, 3 sanity, 0 clues, 5 resources

In Play: Flashlight (3 supplies), Newspaper, Peter Sylvestre, "Jazz" Mulligan

In Hand: Waylay. Resourceful

It seems Rita will be able to pull it off, but won't be able to score additional XPs. There's almost no action compression in this deck, aside from Track Shoes. Notice that back in round #3 there was an opportunity to put the Thrall at the Quad. Doing so and playing Track Shoes would save up on movement and perhaps allowed Rita to elude the birds without killing them. Then again, Secret Doors. This encounter card is wonderful. For most investigators it's a bit easier to deal with than Locked Doors, but at the same time it's much harder to ignore.

You gotta respect Light of Aforgomon! That last mythos phase was do or die because of it.

Why have I decided to save the students instead of rescuing Professor Rice? I would love to have an Intellect boost in Rita's deck, but alas I expect to lose the Essex Country Express. Rita has no tools to handle it. Or does she? If you have an idea on how to survive the train ride post them below. All ideas are welcomed, brilliant and daft alike.

Campaign Log:

Extracurricular Activity: The students were rescued. Professor Warren Rice was kidnapped. 3 XP (Vassal of the Lurker, Orne Library, Dormitories).

Very interesting! Just built my first Rita deck for Forgotten Age. When looking at your cards, did you not plan on killing most enemies? How did you deal with bosses?

Read ahead to find out!

Note that in Dunwich there are zero obligatory boss fights. Strictly speaking you do not need to defeat any of them. I'll make use of Rita's damage-on-evade ability and I'll also lean heavily on Waylay.
